Dating back to the 19th century, the Pra’ dell’Ort farmhouse stands among the picturesque family vineyards in the village of San Vito di Valdobbiadene, just five minutes from the centre of Valdobbiadene. It has been in the Bortolomiol family for more than a century and come through two world wars. It continues to keep memories of the past alive, thanks to a painstaking restoration process that has seen all of its rustic and historical features being preserved.
Behind the name: Pra' dell'Ort
The roots of the name “Pra’ dell’Ort” stretch deep into the past and can be found in the 19th-century land register of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. For generations, the farmhouse and its vineyards have been handed down as a single property. Having never been broken up, it is an authentic example of a local estate. The land includes a small vegetable garden that has always been used to provide produce for the families living in the farmhouse. Listed in historic records as an integral part of the property, this plot of land gave its name to the road leading to the farmhouse (Via Pra’ dell’Ort) and subsequently also inspired the name of the agritourism establishment.

In September 2022, the Stramare-Bortolomiol family embarked on an ambitious project to restore the empty farmhouse to its former glory. The goal was to create a refined, welcoming place where guests and friends can have an unforgettable time, surrounded by natural beauty, well-being and the area’s wine-making traditions. The agritourism establishment also has ties to a local institution: the long-established Spumanti Gemin winery.
